On Dec 29th, 2019, Amy was involved in a single car accident. As she was going down some country backroads on the way to visit a friend, when Amy looked down for 2 seconds at her GPS and when she looked up all she saw was grass. The car flipped 4 or 5 times and she was thrown 75ft from her vehicle. At current state Amy is unable to put any weight on her feet because she broke both hips and shattered her pelvis. At this point Amy has had surgery and two screws were placed to hold her hips in place. Also, in this accident Amy broke her neck in 2 places (C1 and C6), back (T5), both shoulder blades, shattered her left wrist, dislocated her thumb, and broke a rib that is currently sitting on her lung. Amy is now at her home. However, she is only able to lay or sit in a hospital bed and get in a wheelchair for a small amount of time. The only way to get out of the bed is with help, and into her wheelchair for an hour or two at the time or to go to her doctor’s appointments. Amy currently has 24-hour care because she is unable do anything for herself unless it's within her reach (only capable of using her right arm). The injuries she sustained could have easily taken her life, but God has some unfinished plans for her. Time will bring healing and she will begin the process of learning to walk again once her hips, pelvis, neck, and back heal which will take at least another 2-3 months if not longer. The doctors are saying that learning to walk again will be a lengthy process. With Amy being unable to work to support herself and her two boys, we are doing a fundraiser in hopes to help take some of her worries away. The stress of her rent, light bill, medical expenses, and the care of herself and her children. Amy also lost her vehicle the only one she had for transportation for her job and her activities with her children. The extent of all her healing processes could take upwards of a year or more. If you unable to donate, then please say a prayer for her and her family.
